Quebec City

On Thursday we took a VIA Rail (the Canadian Amtrak) train to Quebec City. It was a very fast and comfortable ride, I would say it is comparable to the Amtrak service between NYC and Washington DC.




Upon arriving in the city I was assaulted sonically. First, there was Celine Dion playing on the speakers in the men's restroom. Then while walking to the hotel we heard what I hope was a cannon firing 3 times and not a series of car bombs. Once we were almost at the hotel they were doing a sound check across the street for some music festival and it sounded like Rammstein on acid at 120 dB. After checking in things calmed down. We went to eat at Le Hobbit (which thankfully had ceilings of a normal height), and afterwards went for a stroll.
